Based on three-year growth forecasts for 42 AI- and semiconductor-related stocks, Kioxia Holdings ranked first and SoftBank Group last. The rankings were determined by comparing the three-year average growth rate with consensus forecasts three periods ahead.
To compile a ranking of AI- and semiconductor-related stocks by three-year average earnings growth, financial information services company IFIS JAPAN extracted data on 42 stocks by comparing the average forecast for net income three periods ahead with the previous period’s actual results, based on analyst forecasts from 16 major securities firms.
Kioxia Holdings stood out in the ranking, with an average three-year growth rate of more than 144%. The tight supply of memory products, the company’s core business, was cited as a key factor. This suggests that the outlook for demand for the company’s products remains solid.
SoftBank Group, meanwhile, ranked last. This was largely because the previous period began from a record-high profit base, while consensus forecasts three periods ahead were significantly negative. However, some analysts said the company’s future growth should not be categorically ruled out, depending on growth in the AI sector.
Hidetoshi Fujii (藤井英敏) notes that demand for Kioxia could remain strong if the data center construction boom continues. At the same time, he analyzes the possibility that increased capital investment by South Korean companies and expanded memory supply could affect prices.
