The Tokyo market remained firm at the afternoon open on 30 September, with the number of advancing stocks increasing. Buying spread mainly across large-cap semiconductor-related stocks, and both the Nikkei average and TOPIX maintained their upward trends.
The Nikkei average opened above the previous day's level at the afternoon open, continuing the firm trend in the afternoon session. The Nikkei average had risen sharply as of the morning close, while TOPIX also remained at a high level. Buying spread mainly across semiconductor-related stocks, and advancing stocks increased overall.

As of 10:17 a.m., the Nikkei average remained in positive territory.
