At the opening of the afternoon session, the Nikkei 225 extended its gains from the morning session close in the Tokyo stock market. The benchmark Nikkei 225 stood at ¥64,146.67, up ¥223.67.
At the same time in U.S. markets, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was at $51,461.90, down 631.21 from the previous day, while the Shanghai Composite was at 3,891.60 points, up 27.32.
In the foreign exchange market, dollar-yen was trading around ¥156.05. Against this backdrop, the Japanese market maintained its buying momentum.
