かんざし and Streaming House have launched SOTOWORK, a Japan-Korea collaborative workation brand. To mark the launch, they will offer a fully subsidized inspection tour to Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea.
かんざし, which operates a cloud business for Japanese ryokan and hotels, has announced the launch of SOTOWORK, a new workation brand developed in collaboration with South Korea's Streaming House. SOTOWORK is positioned as a comprehensive workation services brand primarily targeting Japanese companies and individuals. The companies also outlined plans to develop a website and related services in preparation for the brand's rollout in Japan.
To mark the launch, an inspection tour will be held from 29 September to 2 October 2026, covering 3 nights and 4 days and visiting Gongju, Pupung and Boryeong in Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea. All costs, including airfare, accommodation, meals and local activity fees, will be covered. The tour is open to representatives of companies and organizations, local governments and the digital nomad community, with capacity limited to 20 participants.
The tour's partner organizations include the Korea Tourism Organization, Chungcheongnam-do and the Chungcheongnam-do Culture and Tourism Foundation. It will be conducted as a joint project by private-sector companies from Japan and South Korea. かんざし said it will draw on its operational expertise in South Korea to develop SOTOWORK services that meet the needs of Japanese companies and local governments.
SOTOWORK aims to integrate a group of businesses spanning ryokan and hotel technology, HR technology and tourism technology. The inspection tour is intended to introduce examples of welfare-based workation programs in South Korea to Japan, expand exchanges between Japanese and South Korean companies, and foster a related population in local communities.
