Taisei Corporation jointly developed with サン・エンジニアリング “AutoRoboMapSystem (A.R.M.S),” a system that automatically generates dedicated map drawings for robots operating at construction sites. The system covers 2D data (CAD) and 3D data (BIM), automatically creating maps that support robots’ recognition of the site.
The system can output drawings for robots from 2D and 3D site data with just a few clicks. This reduces the removal and adjustment of unnecessary text and symbols that were previously performed manually, significantly shortening the time required to prepare drawings.
A key feature is its ability to reduce human error and standardize drawing quality through rule-based automated processing. In addition, BIM attribute information can be used to apply data such as room information and materials to robot control, enabling future support for advanced construction and mobile-robot control, including optimization of travel routes.
Going forward, the company plans to integrate A.R.M.S into the operation of its own construction-support robots, accelerate the deployment of robots at construction sites, and promote construction DX based on the use of robots across the construction industry.
