On 13 October, Toshiba Tec revamped its Smart Receipt app, adding a feature for managing food ingredients and a recipe feature for searching for meal plans using registered ingredients. Membership has exceeded 3.2 million, while the number of participating stores has grown to approximately 19,000.
The revamp adds a food management feature for managing eligible food ingredients among purchased products, as well as a recipe feature for searching for meal plans using registered ingredients. This is intended to make it easier for users to check the ingredients at home before shopping and find recipes using ingredients they already have. Toshiba Tec aims to improve the convenience of the Smart Receipt app and enhance the user purchasing experience.
Smart Receipt has more than 3.2 million members and approximately 19,000 participating stores. Through the addition of these features, the service is said to aim to create consumer touchpoints for participating stores that lead to repeat visits and additional purchases.
