ネクセンタイヤジャパン announced the new studless tire WinGuard Ice 3 and said it would be launched sequentially from September 2026. The range comprises 17 sizes from 15 to 20 inches, with a particularly extensive lineup in the 18-inch size.
On 6 August 2026, ネクセンタイヤジャパン announced that the new studless tire WinGuard Ice 3 would be launched sequentially from September 2026.
The tire is designed for heavier vehicles, including hybrid vehicles, electric vehicles and SUVs, with development focused on overcoming ice, snow and the weight of the vehicle.
It uses winter-specific technologies including a newly developed Nordic compound, a wide-profile design, a V-shaped tread pattern, 3D sipes and sawtooth-shaped blocks. These features improve grip on ice and contact with the road surface, with the aim of enhancing braking performance on ice.
The tire has obtained Ice Grip certification supporting its performance on ice and is available in 17 sizes from 15 to 20 inches. The 18-inch range is particularly extensive, with 8 variants. The currently available WinGuard Ice 2 will also continue to be sold.
