北雄ラッキー's interim results for the fiscal year ending February 2027 (1 March 2026 to 31 August 2026) showed revenue of ¥18.338 billion, operating profit of ¥7 million, an ordinary loss of ¥11 million and a net loss of ¥33 million. Revenue declined 0.8% year on year, while operating profit fell 87.3%. Although higher product prices due to inflation lifted the average spend per customer to 101.1% of the year-earlier level, customer numbers fell to 98.1%, and same-store sales were 98.7%. The gross margin was 27.1%, unchanged from the same period of the previous year. While the core store business remained loss-making, rental income from real estate helped offset the shortfall and support operating profit. Interest paid increased by ¥1.19 million during the interim period, resulting in an ordinary loss. At the net income level, the recognition of an impairment loss of ¥3.1 million also had an impact.
Financially, short-term borrowings increased to ¥950 million, up ¥400 million from the same period of the previous year. The current portion of long-term borrowings was ¥489 million, while long-term borrowings under syndicated loans were ¥3.543 billion, down ¥250 million year on year. The average number of employees during the period was 1,395, down 55 from the same period of the previous year.
