Hokuyu Lucky announced its standalone results for March–August 2026, reporting a ¥33 million net loss. Revenue was ¥18.3 billion, affected by weak demand for seasonal products and rising costs.
Hokuyu Lucky's standalone results for March–August 2026 showed a ¥33 million net loss. The company had been profitable in the same period of the previous year, but rising costs for raw materials and supplies, as well as the burden of investment in frozen-food equipment, weighed on results. Revenue was ¥18.3 billion, down 1% year on year.
Operating profit for the period fell sharply to ¥7 million, also affected by sales of seasonal products such as ice cream, beverages and clothing falling below the previous year's levels.
Hokuyu Lucky left its earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending February 2027 unchanged, projecting profit after tax of ¥52 million, down approximately 52% from the previous fiscal year, and flat revenue of ¥37.2 billion. This suggests that the effects of higher costs and certain capital investments are expected to continue.
Although the company moved into the red overall, its current outlook remains unchanged, and developments in its future earnings recovery will be closely watched.
