NTT DATA Group announced a partnership with U.S.-based Palo Alto Networks. The companies will jointly promote AI adoption for cyber defense and aim to build a $1 billion business in global markets by the end of 2029.
NTT DATA and Palo Alto Networks have agreed to a multiyear collaboration covering the joint development of services for cyber defense and end-to-end support, from strategy development through system implementation and operations. The partnership will target global markets, including Japan, and establish a framework for strengthening corporate security measures.
The companies will introduce systems that use autonomous AI agents to detect and respond to cyberattacks, while also incorporating mechanisms to improve AI transparency. The services are expected to focus primarily on the financial, healthcare and manufacturing sectors, with plans to expand their deployment among corporate customers.
NTT DATA has previously handled sales of Palo Alto Networks software, but the companies will now expand their collaboration to service development. They are also considering incorporating Palo Alto Networks’ technology into NTT DATA’s existing services. NTT DATA will strengthen its support for AI adoption by drawing on more than 7,500 security professionals in Japan and overseas.
The companies said they plan to launch an AI service for cyber defense in July. The service will use multiple advanced AI models from external providers to assess software vulnerabilities. Palo Alto Networks has strengths in security software and has expanded its product portfolio through acquisitions including Israel-based CyberArk.
