Daikin Industries raised its consolidated earnings and dividend forecasts for the fiscal year ending March 2027. Against a backdrop of strong performance in its core air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment business and raw material trends, the company expects higher sales and profits.
Daikin Industries raised its consolidated earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027, increasing its sales forecast from ¥5.15 trillion to ¥5.44 trillion, up 8.5% year on year, its operating profit forecast from ¥436.0 billion to ¥455.0 billion, up 9.6%, and its net profit forecast from ¥278.0 billion to ¥280.0 billion, up 1.7%. At the same time, it changed its interim and year-end dividend forecasts from ¥180 each to ¥185 each, for an annual dividend of ¥370. This implies higher dividends for both the interim and year-end periods.
The backdrop includes expanded sales of high-value-added products, pricing initiatives and global total cost reductions. The company expects its core air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment business to outperform its plan, while its chemicals business is also expected to benefit from expanded sales to the semiconductor and data center markets.
For the six months ended September, sales were ¥2.9107 trillion, operating profit was ¥270.793 billion and net profit was ¥172.959 billion. Operating profit exceeded the previous forecast. The weaker yen and expanded sales of high-value-added products may have contributed to the increase in profit.
