WOWOW and NTT DOCOMO will establish the new company WOWOW Lemino (planned) as a joint venture and begin operations on Thursday, 1 October 2026. This initiative is based on the capital and business alliance agreement signed on 15 June 2026.
WOWOW Lemino aims to combine WOWOW's expertise in content acquisition and production with DOCOMO's assets, including its member base, channels and venues, to significantly expand its content lineup and provide new entertainment experiences spanning digital and physical offerings.
Key initiatives include streaming sports content on Lemino, including European football such as the UEFA Champions League and the Kinoshita Group Japan Open Tennis, as well as more than 100 WOWOW original dramas, music live events and other content. The company will also promote fandom-building through exclusive content, events and limited-edition merchandise.
By working with DOCOMO's service plans, the company will leverage its member base to expand its reach to more customers. Lemino Premium costs ¥1,540 per month (tax included) with web registration and at DOCOMO shops, and a campaign offering the first 31 days free has also been announced.
