Sharp announced that it will launch its new integrated AI service NIAH on 30 September. NIAH aims to support daily life across home appliances and services, and will support 52 devices in 6 categories.
Through an AI agent, NIAH responds to questions about household chores and home appliances, and helps users configure devices and organize and plan their daily schedules and tasks. Users can consult the service by voice or text through a smartphone chat interface. Using generative AI, NIAH presents solutions and guides users through device setup. Its household management function displays schedules and tasks through calendar integration and allows users to share them with family members.
Users can choose from 3 interaction styles: “supportive,” “smart” and “humorous.” The monthly subscription plans are Free, Normal, Premium and Gold. The Normal plan allows up to 300 uses per month, the Premium plan up to 600, and the Gold plan up to 1,200, with fees set for each plan. The Normal plan will be provided free of charge for 6 months from the date users begin using an eligible home appliance.
Sharp plans to promote integration between NIAH and third-party devices and external services rather than limiting it to its own products. Demo events will be held at Shibuya Scramble Square in Tokyo on 12 September and at the plaza in front of Umeda BIGMAN in Osaka on 26 September.
