アップガレージグループ changed the payment-receipt method at all company-operated stores to crediting PayPay Money Light and began introducing it on 24 September. Customers can receive payment on the spot by scanning a QR code after appraisal.
アップガレージ, the specialist reuse-store chain for car and motorcycle parts and accessories, announced that it had introduced a function at all company-operated stores to credit PayPay Money Light as a way to receive purchase payments. The service began on 24 September and was officially announced on 9 October.
Once the appraisal is complete, customers can receive the purchase payment as PayPay Money Light simply by scanning the QR code displayed at the store. PayPay Money Light is credited as a PayPay Points code, cannot be converted into cash, and can be used as a payment method instead of cash.
The company cited the government's push for cashless payments and the shift toward digital transformation as the backdrop, explaining that the service is intended to improve convenience for customers who do not usually carry cash as the reuse market expands. At a fully cashless store, more than half of customers selected PayPay Money Light when the service was introduced.
The company said it will continue expanding its services with ease of use as its top priority.
