Canal City Fukuoka Washington Hotel fully reopened on 1 September after closure and renovation. The guest-room renovation and updating of the common areas were carried out at the same time.
The lobby features artwork based on the Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival and wood-based materials inspired by Nakasu food stalls. Self-service check-in and check-out machines, a guest-only self-service cloakroom and card-key-linked elevator security have been introduced. The rooms incorporate 5 nature motifs—water, valleys, greenery, sun and stars—under the “Theater of the City” theme, and 9 Superior Bunk Four Rooms equipped with 2 bunk beds each have been added.
Guest-room renovations are scheduled for completion at the end of November. The Bonjour Plus breakfast buffet will add new menu items including Kirishima black pork shabu-shabu and conger eel tempura, in addition to motsunabe and mentaiko.
