WOWOW recorded a ¥494 million foreign-exchange gain in the interim period and raised its full-year revenue forecast, while full-year profit is expected to come in below forecast as investment increases following the Lemino transfer.
WOWOW recorded a ¥494 million foreign-exchange gain in the interim period. As a result, it disclosed the difference between its consolidated interim and full-year revenue forecasts and raised its full-year revenue forecast.
The transfer of Lemino from NTT DOCOMO and the establishment of the joint venture WOWOWLemino on 1 October 2026 are major factors behind the full-year earnings forecast. WOWOWLemino is expected to become a consolidated subsidiary from the third quarter.
However, increased investment in new content and marketing following the Lemino transfer is expected to weigh on full-year profit, with an operating loss projected. On a non-consolidated basis, revenue is expected to be revised upward, while net income is expected to be revised downward due to higher corporate taxes and other taxes.
The subscription plan from the third quarter onward has been updated to reflect the Lemino transfer and revisions to WOWOW’s subscription plan. The plan is calculated using the combined number of paying subscribers to WOWOW and WOWOWLemino. The dividend forecast was left unchanged.
