Hokuriku Electric Power said that materials for the review meeting on Shika Nuclear Power Station Unit 2 contained 216 errors. The causes were a sharp increase in additional analyses and an inadequate work structure, and the company said it would work to prevent recurrence.
Materials submitted by Hokuriku Electric Power to the Nuclear Regulation Authority were found to contain 216 errors concerning tsunami assumptions for Shika Nuclear Power Station Unit 2. As a result, the assumed maximum tsunami height will be revised from 7.1 metres to 12.66 metres.
The company cited the addition of analysis data for 176 new cases during the review process, saying that the work of organising the data had not kept pace and that staffing and work management had been inadequate.
The company also said it had confirmed before submission that there were no errors in the review materials submitted previously, and that it would work to prevent recurrence.
