A labor law violation lawsuit involving former employees of the U.S. subsidiary has been settled. The settlement payment is $647,000 and will be recorded as a special loss for the fiscal year ending December 2026.
グローバルダイニング announced that a lawsuit against its U.S. subsidiary brought by a former employee has been settled. The settlement payment is $647,000, which will be incorporated as a special loss into consolidated results for the nine months ending September 2026.
The settlement concerns a lawsuit filed in March 2024 alleging labor law violations, including unpaid wages and overtime and missed rest breaks. Approximately 1,140 employees who were employed during the relevant period are covered by the settlement. Although there is one plaintiff, the settlement applies to the covered employees.
グローバルダイニング operates 3 restaurants in California, and the settlement payment is expected to affect its results forecast for the fiscal year ending December 2026. The company said the settlement is intended to avoid an increase in litigation costs as the case continues over an extended period.
The company said that, despite differences in the parties’ views, it determined that seeking an early resolution was the best course of action.
