Serendix and JA Mitsui Leasing have formed a business partnership to provide financing support for partner companies adopting construction 3D printers, with the aim of strengthening a nationwide construction network and mass-production capabilities. The companies are also considering offering leases on completed buildings.
Serendix, Japan’s first 3D-printed housing manufacturer, has entered into a business partnership agreement with JA Mitsui Leasing. Under the agreement, JA Mitsui Leasing will use its financing capabilities to support partner companies in introducing construction 3D printers and construction equipment. The companies aim to expand the construction network nationwide and strengthen mass-production capabilities for 3D-printed buildings.
Rather than owning all printers and construction equipment itself, Serendix will continue to use a horizontally divided operating model under which regional partner companies own the equipment and materials. By reducing the investment burden, the company aims to increase the number of partner companies and expand construction volumes.
In addition to supporting equipment adoption, the two companies are considering sales collaborations for facilities and stores using Serendix’s technology, as well as offering a new service to lease the completed buildings themselves. Serendix has stated that it aims to construct more than 1,000 buildings annually after moving into the mass-production phase.
Serendix has announced plans to move into the mass-production phase in June 2026 and had secured orders for 38 housing and infrastructure-related facilities by the end of the previous fiscal year. It is targeting more than 100 buildings cumulatively within the next 1–2 years and more than 1,000 buildings annually in 5 years.
The company is also pursuing applications beyond housing, including station buildings and infrastructure. The partnership is positioned as part of its transition from the research and development stage to mass production and sales.
