Mitsui Fudosan and NIPPON STEEL KOWA REAL ESTATE have begun construction in Yawata, Kyoto Prefecture, on the large-scale logistics facility “MFLP・LOGIFRONT Kyoto Yawata II,” with a total floor area of approximately 161,565 m². The facility is being developed together with Building I, with completion targeted for September 2028.
Construction has been announced for the new logistics facility “MFLP・LOGIFRONT Kyoto Yawata II” on a site in Yawata, Kyoto. The four-story, double-ramp facility is being developed together with Building I, which is already on the site. Construction began on 2 November 2026, the total floor area is approximately 161,565 m², and completion is scheduled for the end of September 2028.
The facility is approximately 3.7 km from the Kyotanabe-Matsui IC on the Daini Keihan Road and approximately 2.8 km from the Yawata-Kyotanabe IC on the Shin-Meishin Expressway, providing good access. Its configuration allows flat-floor use of 34,000–39,000 m² per floor. It will have numerous truck berths, with space for staging and parking, while inbound and outbound traffic routes are arranged with an emphasis on flexibility.
Disaster-prevention measures include emergency generators capable of operating for up to 72 hours, raising the site level in consideration of surrounding flood risks, and measures to address overflow from retention ponds and rivers. Numerous rainwater storage tanks will be installed on the site as part of a plan that will also help reduce flood risk in the area. Air conditioning will be installed in upper-floor warehouses to improve the working environment.
Kyoto Yawata I and II are planned to include rest areas and shops for users, while also meeting everyday demand through offerings such as bento boxes made with local products. Overall, the facilities aim to combine stable operations with contributions to the local community.
