Hiroshima Prefecture has published a revised version of the “Security ▷ Pride ▷ Challenge: Hiroshima Vision.” The plan sets out its direction for the next 5 years, along with 5 policy pillars and priority areas, and outlines measures to address socioeconomic changes including population decline.
Hiroshima Prefecture has reviewed its existing Hiroshima Vision and set out a policy of responding flexibly to future population decline and increasingly complex socioeconomic conditions. Its basic vision is to create a prefecture where people can sincerely say, “I am glad I was born, raised, live and work in Hiroshima,” and it aims to realize the vision it has set for the next 10 years.
As a key element of the revision, the prefecture established its direction for the next 5 years as “Shin Family-Friendly: A city that is easy for families to live in is easy for everyone to live in.” To achieve this, it established 5 pillars, 17 policy areas and 5 priority areas.
The priority areas are a Hiroshima Prefecture chosen by young people, a Hiroshima Prefecture chosen by women, a Hiroshima Prefecture where it is easy to raise children, the establishment of a strong socioeconomic foundation, and the transmission of Hiroshima’s assets and experience. The policy sets out 3 perspectives to run through the implementation of its initiatives: advancing DX, strengthening the Hiroshima brand and developing human resources throughout their lives.
