Kagoshima Prefecture published the revised version of the Kagoshima Future Creation Vision, setting out basic policies and the desired medium- to long-term direction in response to post-pandemic social change, digitalisation, the SDGs and decarbonisation.
The new revision is intended to evolve society into a form in which everyone can live with peace of mind and play an active role, while also looking beyond the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. It organises administrative issues with the prefectural population working together and sets out the basic direction and strategies for prefectural administration over the medium to long term.
Kagoshima's vision is to create "a Kagoshima where everyone can live with peace of mind and play an active role." The prefecture aims to create a society that generates a virtuous cycle through three pillars: developing people who open up the future, building a society that is easy to live in, and developing vibrant industries. In developing people, it promotes pride in local communities and the exercise of diverse abilities; in building a better life, healthy and fulfilling living; and in developing industries, economic growth that makes use of local resources.
The revisions include promoting agriculture, forestry and fisheries, tourism, digitalisation, decarbonisation and diverse forms of regional development, as well as gender equality, improvements to the educational environment, disaster preparedness and stronger national resilience. The aim is to create a Kagoshima where everyone can live with peace of mind and play an active role. To improve its earning power, the prefecture places emphasis on developing core industries, creating new industries and strengthening the circulation of funds through the use of local resources.
Related materials, including "File Download" and the "Summary Version and Regional Development Policy (Revised Version)," have also been prepared, setting out the background to the vision's revision and regional policy directions. The Kagoshima Prefectural General Policy Department's General Policy Division also provides information on the inquiry desk and FAQ.
