NYK LINE raised its current-year ordinary profit forecast by 34.0% after the close on 29 October, to ¥335.0 billion. First-half ordinary profit was also raised to ¥213.0 billion.
NYK LINE announced that it would raise its consolidated ordinary profit forecast for the current fiscal year, ending March 2027, from the previous ¥250.0 billion to ¥335.0 billion. The profit growth rate is expected to expand from 18.4% to 58.7%.
At the same time, the consolidated ordinary profit forecast for the first half of the current fiscal year was changed from the previous ¥160.0 billion to ¥213.0 billion, a substantial increase from ¥118.6 billion in the same period of the previous year.
The reasons for the revision included container freight rates continuing above the assumptions underlying the previous forecast and an expected contribution from equity-method affiliates. Market conditions in the dry bulk and energy businesses were also described as firm.
