Remixpoint has begun receiving power at a roughly 2 MW grid-scale battery storage facility in Makurazaki, Kagoshima. This facility marks the latter half of the company's nationwide 7-location rollout, with power receipt to proceed sequentially at 3 locations in Wakayama, Gifu and Nagano.
The NC Makurazaki City Sakurayama Higashimachi Battery Storage Facility, which has begun receiving power, was developed through NC Pioneer, a consolidated subsidiary of Remixpoint. Its main equipment includes a CATL battery storage system and a TMEIC PCS, with rated output of 1,988 kW and rated capacity of 8,146 kWh.
The project is planned for deployment at 7 locations nationwide, with Makurazaki marking the fourth location to complete power receipt. The remaining 3 locations are expected to begin receiving power sequentially within the fiscal year: Kainan, Wakayama, in November 2026; Ibigawa, Gifu, in December of the same year; and Nagano, Nagano, in March 2027.
Following power receipt, operations are planned using a combination of multiple markets, including JEPX and the capacity market. The company has set a target of developing a cumulative total of 48 high-voltage grid-scale battery storage facilities by the fiscal year ending March 2029. Based on 7 locations that have received power and 5 locations that have entered the balancing market, it is proceeding with the development of a distributed nationwide battery storage network.
