日本蓄電池株式会社 announced that it had begun receiving power at the NC Makurazaki City Sakurayama Higashimachi Battery Storage Facility in Makurazaki, Kagoshima. The project is being developed through a fund established jointly with Remixpoint.
The battery storage equipment uses a CATL battery storage system and a TMEIC PCS, providing a configuration with high reliability and control capability. Construction was handled by the local company 鹿栄電設, with safety and environmental considerations prioritized in the design and construction.
Against the backdrop of renewable energy expansion, the project aims to balance electricity supply and demand. Through operation of the grid-scale battery storage system, it seeks stable operations in the balancing market, JEPX (the wholesale electricity market) and the capacity market.
