ABC-MART revised up its ordinary profit forecast for the current fiscal year and maintained its record-profit outlook at a level above the previous forecast. Full-year ordinary profit is expected to be raised to ¥69.8 billion, with the earnings growth rate increasing to approximately 3.9%.
ABC-MART disclosed its financial results after the market close on 7 October. Consolidated ordinary profit for the cumulative second quarter of the fiscal year ending February 2027 was ¥37.9 billion, up 5.7% year on year.
At the same time, the full-year consolidated ordinary profit forecast was revised up approximately 0.3%, changed from ¥67.4 billion to ¥69.8 billion. The earnings growth rate increased by 0.4 percentage points to approximately 3.9%, adding to the previous forecast for a record high for the fourth consecutive fiscal year.
Based on first-half results and the second-half plan, consolidated ordinary profit for September-February is estimated at ¥31.8 billion, up 1.9% year on year, while second-quarter ordinary profit was ¥16.9 billion and the operating margin on sales improved to 16.3%.
Ordinary profit for June-August, the latest 3-month period, was ¥16.9 billion, up 0.5% year on year, while revenue increased from the previous fiscal year. The revision to the first-half outlook reflects higher revenue driven by inflation, the weaker yen, an increase in inbound visitors and higher average spending per customer.
