Mizuho FG and Kyushu FG have launched disaster-recovery support centered on an e-commerce site. A system has been introduced through よかもーる, operated by Kyushu FG, allowing Mizuho FG employees in remote locations to participate in the support effort. A portion of sales will be allocated to support affected areas.
Mizuho FG and Kyushu FG will strengthen their cooperation centered on an e-commerce site to support reconstruction following the Kumamoto earthquake. They have established a system using よかもーる, operated by Kyushu FG, to sell specialty products from southern Kyushu and help restore local industries while allowing Mizuho FG employees to participate in the support effort online.
A program has been launched to allocate a portion of sales through よかもーる to support affected areas. Sales from 1 to 30 September will be aggregated, and the amount calculated is scheduled to be donated to Kumamoto Prefecture's account for receiving relief donations. As support centered on an e-commerce site, the initiative is expected to become a model for medium- to long-term reconstruction support.
The initiative was proposed by the Fukuoka Branch of みずほ信託銀行. It was planned as a medium- to long-term support measure in anticipation of the scale and prolonged nature of the damage, with the aim of promoting consumption of local products through an e-commerce site and strengthening cooperation among financial institutions.
