Workman is strengthening apparel addressing temperature swings as part of its autumn-winter growth strategy. It will launch the new XShelter “Comfort Insulation” Σ as an all-season product and aims to sell 7.8 million garments and generate ¥25 billion in sales over the next year.
On 7 October, Workman held a briefing on new products addressing abnormal weather in autumn and winter 2026 and announced plans for its flagship XShelter series to reach sales of 7.8 million garments and ¥25 billion in revenue over the next year. Executive Senior Managing Director Tsuchiya Tetsuo (土屋 哲雄) said the company aims to become the undisputed leader in outerwear with XShelter and will promote product development capable of addressing daily temperature swings as abnormal weather becomes commonplace.
The XShelter “Comfort Insulation” Σ series, the first all-season product in the XShelter line, is designed to absorb temperature differences between 5°C and 30°C outside and maintain the temperature inside the garment at 28–32°C, with year-round sales envisioned. Demand is expected to peak during the narrower temperature-transition periods from September to December and March to June.
Executive Senior Managing Director Tsuchiya (土屋) described the XShelter “Comfort Insulation” Σ series as the world's first clothing designed to absorb temperature differences in a single garment. He said the company plans to launch 13 products simultaneously in the first year and is targeting sales of 700,000 items and ¥2.4 billion for the year beginning September 2026.
Other apparel addressing temperature swings includes Mediheal Cosmos and merino wool products. Mediheal Cosmos in particular is reported to have sold 700,000 garments within 45 days of launch. This is also expected to support the company's growth in recovery wear.
