The Shiga Bank and Senshu Ikeda Holdings, Inc. reached a basic agreement on a business integration scheduled for April 2028. The holding company will change its name after the integration and strengthen its ties by placing The Shiga Bank and Senshu Ikeda Bank under its umbrella.
The Shiga Bank and Senshu Ikeda Holdings, Inc. announced on 29 October that they had reached a basic agreement toward a business integration scheduled for April 2028. The post-integration holding company is scheduled to change its name, with both banks becoming subsidiaries, while their brands will be retained.
The two companies had entered into a capital and business alliance in April, but will move toward a business integration only six months later. They said they aim to become the most trusted and needed financial group in Kansai.
Sakaguchi Koichi (阪口広一), president, said, “Non-financial businesses are also entering the financial sector one after another. If our values are aligned, it is better to move early.” Kubota Shinya (久保田真也), president of Senshu Ikeda Bank, said, “We will be able to manage our human resources and management resources as one. To grow, we need to strengthen our internal management base.”
Following the integration, total assets are expected to exceed ¥14 trillion. The combined total of ¥7.6 trillion for The Shiga Bank and ¥6.5 trillion for Ikeda Senshu Holdings is expected to surpass that of Kyoto Financial Group, Inc., making the group the largest regional bank in Kansai.
