Shiga Bank and Ikeda Senshu Holdings are considering a management integration. The move toward integration came only 6 months after they announced in April that they would make reciprocal investments of approximately 0.5%–1%. The presence of Kyoto Financial Group, one of the largest financial groups in Kansai, is reportedly behind the move.
Working groups established after the April partnership are advancing discussions on specific areas of cooperation, including corporate lending, overseas business and the use of human resources.
The rapid pace of the integration discussions is viewed as reflecting the restructuring of regional financial institutions.
The focus will be on how the specific form of the integration and the areas of cooperation develop, depending on future progress.
