Chubu Electric President Yasui Minoru (安井 稔) held his second meeting with the Shizuoka governor since his inauguration, apologizing for misconduct including data falsification at the Hamaoka Nuclear Power Plant and explaining measures to prevent recurrence.
Chubu Electric President Yasui Minoru (安井 稔) held his second meeting with Shizuoka Governor Suzuki Yasutomo (鈴木 康友) since his inauguration on the afternoon of the 2nd, again apologizing for misconduct including the data falsification issue at the Hamaoka Nuclear Power Plant.
In its interim results last month, the company recognized an extraordinary loss of ¥370.3 billion, citing the difficulty of recovering the cost of Hamaoka Nuclear Power Plant equipment due to increased uncertainty over the timing of its restart.
Yasui (安井) explained that new measures to prevent recurrence would include appointing compliance officers and conducting audits by external experts. Governor Suzuki (鈴木) requested that the company continue working on organizational reforms.
President Yasui (安井) said he recognized that explaining progress, including to local government leaders, would be the first step toward restoring trust.
