Resona Holdings announced that it will add a location-based coupon search function to “Resona Plus” in early November. It will proceed with integration with JCB's J-POINT and is also considering expansion to regional financial institutions.
The Resona Group will expand its coupon offering through “Resona Plus,” a service for individuals. In addition to adding a function in early November that uses location data to find discounts at stores near the user's current location, the group will provide coupons in cooperation with Benefit One through a partner's API. Approximately 100,000 coupons will be available initially, with a launch commemorative campaign running through 31 March 2027.
As part of its future development, the group plans to expand the number of coupons to more than 1.4 million depending on customers' banking activity, with the aim of increasing contact with local stores. At the presentation, it emphasized refining the UI/UX and linking the service to everyday experiences.
The Resona Group also announced a collaboration with JCB in May 2026. As part of the planned renewal of its points service in fiscal 2027, it will work toward unifying the service under the J-POINT brand. It is considering a system that allows customers to earn J-POINT based on their banking activity, with the aim of improving the payment experience.
The group is also considering offering the service externally to regional financial institutions and indicated a policy of expanding its points of contact with local stores.
