TV TOKYO Holdings will invest $2 million in US-based Nakama, Inc., with the aim of expanding overseas licensing opportunities for anime IP through AniBiz.com. The TV TOKYO Group positions the investment as part of its efforts to accelerate its global expansion under its long-term vision.
TV TOKYO Holdings decided to invest $2 million in US-based Nakama, Inc. Nakama operates AniBiz.com, a licensing platform specializing in anime IP, which it officially launched in July 2026.
AniBiz.com provides a system to streamline licensing transactions dedicated to the global anime industry. More than 30 companies currently participate, primarily licensors of popular Japanese anime IP.
The TV TOKYO Group is pursuing the CaaS strategy under its long-term vision, “TV TOKYO VISION 2035,” expanding licensing opportunities for its IP overseas through a diverse range of broadcasting, streaming, merchandising and event businesses.
The investment is intended to support ongoing collaboration with Nakama and create new licensing opportunities worldwide for the anime IP owned by TV TOKYO Holdings. Executive Managing Director Hiraoka Risuke (平岡利介) described Nakama’s initiative as an innovative effort to accelerate the global expansion of the Japanese anime industry as a whole.
