Dell Technologies' new president, Robotom John (ジョン・ロボトム), said the company would accelerate AI adoption in the Japanese market and support the generation of results. He held a press conference approximately two months after his appointment and explained the AI strategy and its application to the Japanese market.
Dell Technologies announced that Robotom John (ジョン・ロボトム) would become its new representative director and president in Japan effective 17 August 2026. He has more than 25 years of industry experience and has built a 23-year career in Japan. Approximately two months after his appointment, he held a press conference for the Japanese media on 27 October to explain the company's future business strategy.
At the press conference, he personally explained the results of the Modern Enterprise Readiness Study 2026, which showed that the share of Japanese companies whose AI adoption had advanced from the initial and intermediate stages to the later phase had increased from 35% last year to 58% this year. The findings also showed that 72% said investment decisions would be difficult unless there was a clear plan for generating results, and that data analytics, security, and IT automation were the leading areas for AI use.
Dell emphasized its strength in providing an integrated offering spanning AI PCs, data-center modernization, and the AI infrastructure platform Dell AI Factory. It outlined a policy of supporting customers from AI adoption through to the generation of results by co-creating with partner companies through the use of EBSC and AI Innovation Lab in Otemachi, Tokyo, among other resources, and indicated its intention to apply its leadership in global markets to Japanese companies.
