トーエネック has begun a demonstration of Aisin perovskite solar cells on the roof of the Play House at Kuragaike Park in Toyota City, Aichi. Approximately 1 kW of capacity has been installed, with crystalline silicon and perovskite solar cells connected in parallel for power generation data to be monitored remotely and on-site inspections to be conducted.
トーエネック has begun a demonstration of perovskite solar cells in collaboration with Chubu Electric Power, Chubu Electric Power Miraiz and Toyota City. The demonstration is being conducted as part of Aichi Prefecture's "Perovskite Solar Cell Expansion Project," which was announced on 6 October.
The installation site is the roof of the Play House at Kuragaike Park, where solar cells with total capacity of approximately 1 kW have been installed. The evaluation covers construction methods, power generation characteristics, practicality in urban spaces and the potential for deployment that takes advantage of the cells' thin and lightweight characteristics. Two construction methods, perimeter fencing and ballast-mounted foundation supports, will be assessed.
Power will be generated by a system that connects the existing crystalline silicon solar cells and perovskite solar cells in parallel for simultaneous generation. Maintenance and management will also be evaluated through remote monitoring of power generation data and on-site inspections. Chubu Electric Power will be responsible for evaluating power generation characteristics and changes over time, while Chubu Electric Power Miraiz will coordinate the overall implementation and verification.
The demonstration will run through fiscal 2028, with multiple public facilities and companies in Aichi Prefecture selected as demonstration sites. The Perovskite Solar Cell Expansion Project aims to create deployment models and promote the wider adoption of the technology at public and private facilities.
