At its “Made by Google '26” presentation in New York, Google unveiled new features centered on the Pixel 11 series. The presentation included Gemini Intelligence, enhanced health and safety features, and the introduction of Pixel Watch 5.
Google held a new product presentation in New York on 13 August local time, unveiling new experiences centered on the Pixel 11 series of smartphones and integrated with Gemini Intelligence. Gemini Intelligence uses advanced processing, including background processing, and is designed to handle everything from messaging to restaurant reservations and arranging transportation without requiring users to switch between apps. The Pixel 11 series is powered by the Tensor G6, which supports this processing.
The camera also gains a new Magic Capture feature for capturing fast-moving subjects, while the Pixel 11 Pro supports up to 120x zoom. Other additions include HiLight, which uses different colors to display incoming calls from specific people, and an accessibility feature that converts ASL into text in real time. These features are designed to support communication across language and physical circumstances.
The Pixel Watch 5 smartwatch was also introduced with Health Guardian, a health-management feature. It provides new analyses including trends indicating insulin resistance, blood pressure trends and abnormal breathing detection, and can place an emergency call when abnormal breathing is detected. Its charging performance allows almost a full day of use from 15 minutes of charging.
In connection with the presentation, Google also announced the opening of its first directly operated Google Store in Japan, new colors for Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Pixel Tag, a tag designed to help prevent lost belongings. The Pixel 11 series and Pixel Watch 5 are scheduled to launch on 20 August and will be sold not only directly but also through NTT DOCOMO, KDDI, SoftBank, Rakuten Mobile and other retailers.
