MISUMI Group Inc.’s mechanical parts procurement AI “meviy” has launched a feature that enables machined parts with shapes that result in uncut areas to be ordered through automated quoting. Previously, parts with uncut areas were not covered, requiring manual quotes or design changes.
The AI platform for mechanical parts procurement “meviy” has expanded its functionality so that machined parts with shapes that result in uncut areas can be ordered as is. Uncut areas occur where cutting tools have difficulty reaching, and may be left as is when they do not affect the part’s use or installation. Because such parts were previously excluded from automated quoting, additional work was required, including requesting a manual quote, changing the design and re-uploading the design.
Users had requested the ability to place orders without changing the design if they knew where uncut areas would occur and how large they would be. In response, meviy expanded the scope of automated quoting. The news describes this as a functionality enhancement to the AI platform provided by MISUMI Group Inc.
