JapanSOL, a project designed to help Japanese companies use SOL, has launched. The project is being jointly operated by Allied Architects and Dawn Labs, while Allied Verse, a wholly owned subsidiary of Allied Architects, manages the company’s corporate treasury assets. In addition to holding SOL, the project is considering earning staking rewards and using SOL as collateral in DeFi. The aim is to expand corporate treasury management from simply holding assets to putting them to use.
The japanSOL pool currently has deposits of 7,813.65 SOL and 13 holders. japanSOL is a receipt-like digital asset for SOL liquid staking, with pool and validator operations conducted on Sanctum. The structure provides for a portion of the rewards contributed by participating companies to be returned to the pool, although the timing and amount of those distributions may vary depending on the agreement.
JapanSOL may also involve DeFi strategies in which SOL is used as collateral for borrowing, with the risk of liquidation. Borrowing through Jupiter Lend and leveraged strategies using its Multiply feature carry risks including fluctuations in borrowing rates and collateral valuations, as well as smart-contract defects, so these strategies require careful management. Individuals can stake SOL through domestic exchanges, and the reward allocation at SBI VC Trade is generally said to be 75%, but this is separate from JapanSOL’s operations.
