MIXI formally announced that it will exhibit its conversational AI robot Romi (Lacatan model) at CEATEC 2026, held at Makuhari Messe from 13 to 16 October. The event will center on an interactive Romi exhibition, allowing visitors to experience its latest AI conversation functions. It will also introduce new experiences connecting Romi with external devices and services using the RomiCore SDK.
Romi’s features include not only natural verbal interaction, but also the ability to talk about things it is viewing together with the user through its visual functions, as well as long-term memory of its daily experiences with its owner. Through hands-on demonstrations, visitors will be able to enjoy interacting with Romi.
The exhibition will also feature a demo connecting external devices using the RomiCore SDK, allowing visitors to see and experience how Romi can be connected to a range of devices and services. The SDK will be introduced as a developer tool for connecting Romi with external systems and developing new communication experiences.
Demos are also planned showing Romi working with humanoid robots, as well as conversations that convey changes based on environmental information from temperature and humidity sensors. These demonstrations will highlight new possibilities for communication centered on Romi.
