亀田製菓 of Niigata City announced that it will launch the rice snack “60g Roasted Thin-Baked Black Sesame,” made with black sesame kneaded into the thin-baked crackers, nationwide on 5 October. The suggested retail price is approximately ¥248, including tax. The product contains 60 grams and comes in 6 individually wrapped bags.
Black sesame is kneaded into the dough, then roasted with hot air to bring out its aromatic flavor. The crackers have a crisp texture and a light salty taste. The packaging is predominantly black and features a design inspired by copper-colored black sesame seeds.
In addition to sesamin from black sesame, the product contains the rice-derived plant-based lactic acid bacterium “K-1.” 亀田製菓 has researched rice-derived lactic acid bacteria since 1990 and uses K-1 and K-2 in foods with function claims.
The product is named “60g Roasted Thin-Baked Black Sesame,” and is sold at supermarkets and other retailers nationwide.
