Apple announced that it will hold the “Welcome home” event to announce new products for the home on 13 October. The venue is believed to be Tribeca, New York, with a new hub with a screen and other products expected to be the main focus.
An Apple executive posted “Welcome home. October 13.” on X, previewing the announcement of new products for the home on 13 October. The invitation states that the event will be held at 9:00 a.m. local time in Tribeca, New York, or 10:00 p.m. Japan time on the same day, although it has not been decided whether it will be livestreamed or how the hands-on sessions will be structured.
The leading candidate is a new smart home device with a screen, which is being highlighted as the flagship product. Reports say that all 3 products will be built around Siri AI, and whether English-speaking markets will receive them first or Japan will see a simultaneous launch is also attracting attention.
The existing “HomePod mini” and “Apple TV 4K” are expected to be announced as new models on the same day. Their appearance is not expected to change significantly, with the focus reportedly on enhancing Siri’s AI capabilities through performance improvements.
The announcement is also reported to potentially include Apple’s first device with a screen, along with improvements to related equipment and software updates. Some media outlets report that a Japanese-language version of Siri AI is scheduled to be offered from October.
