Nintendo has announced two new Switch 2 bundles ahead of the console price increase in the US market on 1 September. Both include a 90-day Nintendo Switch Online membership.
Nintendo will launch two new Switch 2 bundles this autumn. With the console price set to rise by $50 on 1 September, the bundles will include an online membership to enhance their value. The Mario Kart World bundle combines the console with the game and a 90-day Nintendo Switch Online membership. It will arrive in late September, with the savings versus purchasing the items separately being emphasised.
The new Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle is scheduled for release on 22 October. It will include a motion-controlled sports title and a three-month online membership. Priced at $530, it includes the digital version of the game and three months of membership, effectively offering the game at a discount. Both bundles will be sold in the US at prices denominated in dollars.
The US console price revision on 1 September will be implemented separately from the change in Japan. In Japan, the price has already been raised from ¥49,980 to ¥59,980 as of 25 May, and the September revision is not expected to apply to the Japanese market. Nintendo has cited rising component costs, exchange rates and crude oil prices as the reasons for the change, and is moving to pass these costs through in terms of long-term profitability.
