FPT Japan Holdings and Nippon Seiki are reported to have entered into a basic business alliance agreement covering the design and development of software for automotive products. The agreement is intended to strengthen their European development capabilities by transferring NSEU's Polish design organization to FPT Poland.
As background to the alliance, Nippon Seiki and the FPT Group entered into a strategic cooperation MOU in 2023 and have expanded their offshore development center in Vietnam. The latest announcement outlines plans to strengthen their development capabilities in Europe, in addition to Japan and Vietnam, by taking over NSEU's design and development organization at its Polish base.
The business alliance will cover automotive software development, product engineering, solution and platform development, the creation of new business opportunities in the future, and the transfer and operation of the design and development organization in Poland. The parties are reported to be aiming to strengthen their development resources and customer support capabilities in Europe.
The Polish base will be established in Gdańsk, where software development services for Europe are scheduled to continue under the name FPT Poland. Service stability and quality maintenance during the transition period are reported to be priorities. The parties are also considering expanding services for European OEMs and suppliers, with a view to strengthening their global technological capabilities.
