LINTEC will open a new research facility, the Semiconductor Solutions Lab, on a site adjacent to the Fukuoka Ultra-Integrated Semiconductor Solutions Center within Itoshima Research Park in Itoshima, Fukuoka Prefecture. The investment will total approximately ¥20 billion, with completion targeted for October 2028.
The facility will be developed as a strategic hub for the development of process materials, direct materials and related equipment for semiconductor middle-end processes. It will address technological innovation in middle-end processes, including growing demand for AI, three-dimensional packaging and chiplet integration, with the aim of strengthening the company’s technological foundation over the medium to long term.
The facility will include a clean environment and be equipped with middle-end and back-end process equipment used in actual production lines, as well as analytical and characterization equipment. It will serve as a development center for advancing technology development through co-creation with customers, supporting an early response to next-generation processes.
LINTEC plans to strengthen its global R&D structure and its ability to provide integrated proposals covering materials, equipment and processes by collaborating with its domestic and overseas facilities.
