NITTAN and its Indian subsidiary have been selected for the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's Global South Future-Oriented Co-Creation Program and will conduct an engine-valve technology demonstration in India. The project selected is a technology development and demonstration project jointly applied for by NITTAN and NITTAN India Tech.
NITTAN announced that it had been selected for the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's fiscal 2025 supplementary-budget Global South Future-Oriented Co-Creation Program (large-scale demonstration, non-ASEAN member countries). The selected projects include the Technology Development and Demonstration Project for High-Value-Added Valves Adapted to Indian Conditions, jointly applied for by NITTAN and its Indian subsidiary, Nittan India Tech (NIT). This formally launches the demonstration plan for the Indian market.
In India, vehicles compatible with multiple fuels, including gasoline, CNG and bioethanol, are becoming more widespread. Because combustion conditions differ by fuel, engine valves require wear resistance and durability. Against a backdrop of tighter environmental regulations, demand is also expected to grow for improved engine efficiency through weight reduction and enhanced cooling performance.
NITTAN and NIT will jointly conduct technology development and demonstration for high-value-added valves suited to Indian conditions. The demonstration is expected to evaluate durability, combustion compatibility, weight-reduction effects and cooling performance under local engine conditions. Attention is focused on future progress.
As fuel diversification advances, demonstrating technologies that combine environmental performance and improved vehicle performance could affect the expansion of adoption in the Indian market and the deployment of the technology in Japan and overseas.
