President and Representative Executive Officer Nitta Hideaki (新田英明) provided details of the company's business centered on DX, human resources and public-private collaboration, as well as its future growth strategy focused on reinforcing SaaS, expanding its IT workforce and promoting regional revitalization.
Through an interview with President and Representative Executive Officer Nitta Hideaki (新田英明), Scala,Inc. explained that it positions DX, the use of human resources and public-private collaboration to address social issues as the three pillars of its business. The company outlined a policy of developing solutions to address a diverse range of customer issues, supported by stable recurring revenue centered on SaaS.
In its corporate history, the company shifted to B2B SaaS in 2007 after the failure of its initial diversification strategy. It now maintains annual revenue of more than ¥3 billion in the SaaS business of スカラコミュニケーションズ, while expanding its customer base, particularly among large companies. The company also reviewed its shift in policy toward selective investment and focus following a strategic change after listing and the acquisition and sale of Softbrain.
The three areas highlighted in the growth strategy are reinforcing the SaaS business, expanding IT staffing and support for new-graduate recruitment, and promoting public-private collaboration and regional revitalization. The company plans to use its track record in SaaS for financial institutions to expand orders for solution-based projects, while also strengthening its engineer recruitment capabilities and expanding its human-resources development structure.
For public-private collaboration, the company is promoting the creation of new businesses using SaaS for local governments and crowdfunding linked to the hometown tax donation program. It aims to expand its business and increase its social impact through policy partnerships for regional revitalization and stronger alliances with financial institutions. The company also emphasized its focus on on-site execution in post-M&A PMI.
