At Manufacturing World Osaka, held in Osaka, TECHNO HORIZON CO.,LTD. unveiled edge AI demos. Interest grew in efforts using VLMs and LLMs to analyse on-site video, identify work errors and automate visual inspections.
TECHNO HORIZON CO.,LTD., which exhibited at the 29th Manufacturing World Osaka, presented 3 practical demos of physical AI and edge AI operating inside on-site equipment. The demos showed the full process in which machines recognise and understand video before taking action, attracting the interest of visitors.
A visual-recognition tracking demo demonstrated how a camera captures a target and a movable component changes its orientation. The company showcased technology integrating video recognition with motor control.
Demos of an LLM and VLM running on an edge device presented potential on-site applications, including returning words of praise after viewing video and detecting entry into restricted areas. Video is processed on JetsonAGX Thor without being sent externally.
An edge AI demo using the company's proprietary AI-BOX introduced a system that detects and tracks items identified through text instructions in webcam footage. It uses a combination of the Jetson AGX Orin 64GB module and Meta's SAM3.
The company also plans to consider updating its exhibits based on feedback received in Osaka as part of its future exhibition plans. It was also announced, as information concerning the company name change, that TECHNO HORIZON CO.,LTD. will be renamed ELMO on 1 January 2027.
