関通ホールディングス and STORIN JP entered into a strategic business partnership on 3 June 2026 to promote logistics automation and develop the robotics business in the Japanese market. The companies will accelerate the deployment of automation at logistics sites in Japan, centered on 5 areas of collaboration and a mobile showroom strategy.
関通ホールディングス and STORIN JP announced that they are establishing a framework to provide end-to-end automation solutions for the Japanese market through cooperation between the two Asia-focused smart logistics companies. They aim to address challenges including labor shortages and rising costs at logistics sites in Japan.
The companies plan to use their procurement capabilities for automation equipment in the Japanese market, system integration expertise and solution-building capabilities to develop 5 areas of collaboration as business-oriented solution packages. The 5 pillars are high-frequency picking of small items, high-density storage, unmanned material handling, high-speed sorting and shipping, and robotic operations.
The core of the partnership is the “mobile showroom” strategy, a three-stage rollout that starts with the early implementation of STORIN's solutions at 関通HD's own logistics centers, then makes operational data available for validation and uses the results to develop new customers. Phase 1 involves demonstrations at existing facilities, Phase 2 reference deployments, and Phase 3 the acquisition of large-scale projects and expansion of recurring revenue.
In comments from the companies' representatives, the chairman of STORIN JP emphasized the partnership's role in achieving top-line growth in the Japanese market and discussed the significance of using 関通HD's operational expertise and brand strength. The president of 関通HD also indicated plans to pursue future business development in light of labor shortages and the arrival of the physical AI era.
