関通ホールディングス and STORIN JP announced a business partnership. Aiming to promote automation solutions and develop the robotics business in Japan, the companies will roll out 5 business-oriented solution packages and a "mobile showroom" strategy.
関通ホールディングス has entered into a business partnership with STORIN JP, an Asian smart logistics company. The companies aim to promote automation solutions and develop the robotics business in Japan by combining their logistics expertise and automation technologies to expand the market and gain share.
Japan's logistics industry faces labor shortages and rising costs due to the declining birthrate and aging population, and the logistics automation market is forecast to expand to ¥1.9 trillion by 2034. 関通HD plans to use STORIN's equipment procurement and systems integration capabilities to provide end-to-end automation solutions optimized for the Japanese market.
The companies will accelerate their rollout in Japan around 5 business-oriented solution packages. Under the partnership's core "mobile showroom" strategy, STORIN's solutions will be introduced first at 関通HD's own facilities and existing customer sites, with live operational data made available to develop new customers.
Automation projects using 3D sorters, smart locker-style high-value goods storage, GTP, robotic arms and AGV/AGF systems are currently under way, with a target of achieving ¥10 billion in revenue in Japan. Looking ahead to an era of labor shortages and physical AI, the companies will continue developing the business by applying the technologies in use.
