CEATEC 2026, one of Japan's largest IT trade shows, was held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, with numerous demonstrations related to physical AI standing out. Demonstrations of the latest technologies, including Fujitsu's Godzilla-themed exhibit, were unveiled one after another.
CEATEC 2026, one of Japan's largest IT trade shows, featured numerous technology exhibits centered on physical AI and drew strong interest from visitors. Fujitsu, 日立製作所, Mitsubishi Electric and other exhibitors presented AI-based services and demonstrations covering applications in factories, social infrastructure and urban disaster preparedness.
At Fujitsu's booth, a disaster-response simulation using digital-twin technology and based on Godzilla was presented. The virtual environment was used to examine a plan for safely evacuating approximately 250,000 people within 60 minutes after Godzilla landed from Tokyo Bay. Another demonstration offered interactive content using skeleton-recognition AI, allowing participants to act as Godzilla and destroy a city.
日立製作所 introduced its HMAX AI service for next-generation factories, railways and other social infrastructure. Mitsubishi Electric demonstrated the replacement of factory tasks, including precision screw tightening by a robotic arm. All of these exhibits attracted attention as implementations of the latest physical AI technologies.
